Connected Accounts & Player Profile
The Player Profile and Connected Accounts sections of Settings store your identity information and platform connections. Nothing here is sent to any server — it is stored entirely on your machine.
Go to Settings from the left sidebar to access both sections.
Player Profile
Section titled “Player Profile”The Player Profile section stores your name as it appears in PGN headers. Masterboard uses this to identify which games are yours across all imported PGN files — for example, to attribute accuracy percentages to the correct player and to detect personal games for statistics features.
Your name
Section titled “Your name”Enter your name in the format it appears in PGN [White] and [Black] headers (for example, Carlsen, Magnus or Magnus Carlsen). Matching is case-insensitive.
If your name appears in different formats across different sources, add one row per format:
- Enter the first format in the initial field.
- Click + Add variant to add another row.
- Enter the second format (e.g.
Magnus Carlsenif the first row isCarlsen, Magnus).
Masterboard checks all variants when identifying your games.
Making changes
Section titled “Making changes”Changes are saved automatically when you leave a field. No restart is required.
Connected Accounts
Section titled “Connected Accounts”The Connected accounts section stores your chess platform usernames and controls automatic background sync. Each platform is a row you can expand to see its username field and sync settings.
Chess.com username
Section titled “Chess.com username”Enter your chess.com username. When set, Masterboard pre-fills the username field in the From Chess.com… import dialog, so you do not have to type it each time. It also enables auto-sync for the account.
Lichess username
Section titled “Lichess username”Enter your Lichess username. Same behaviour — pre-fills the Lichess import username field and enables auto-sync.
Auto-sync
Section titled “Auto-sync”Each account row has an Auto-sync toggle. When on, Masterboard imports new games from that account in the background — see Automatic Sync for the full walkthrough of the interval, filters, and folder/collection settings. A username (above) must be set before the toggle is available.
Lichess OAuth
Section titled “Lichess OAuth”Click Connect Lichess Account to authorise Masterboard via OAuth. A browser window opens to the Lichess authorisation page. After you approve, Masterboard stores the OAuth token locally.
Why connect via OAuth?
- Import your private Lichess Studies in addition to public ones.
- Masterboard lists your studies by name so you can browse and select without copying URLs.
To disconnect: click Disconnect next to your Lichess account. The stored token is deleted immediately.
Making changes
Section titled “Making changes”Changes take effect immediately. No restart is required.
