Keyboard Shortcuts

Board navigation

These shortcuts work on the Home page and in the Openings workspace (with a repertoire selected). They are disabled when a text input or textarea has keyboard focus.

←	Go to the previous move
→	Go to the next move
Home / ↑	Go to the start of the game or line
End / ↓	Go to the end of the game or line
F	Flip the board orientation

General

Escape	Close the open menu or dismiss focus from the current element

Notes

• Navigation shortcuts work on both the Home page and the Openings workspace — the same keys control move traversal in both places.
• Shortcuts do not fire when you are typing in a text field (comment box, rename input, etc.).
• There is currently no way to customise key bindings. Custom shortcuts are planned for a future release.

Keyboard and accessibility

Beyond the shortcuts above, Masterboard is built to be fully operable from the keyboard:

• Every interactive element — game-list rows, repertoire side-nav, panel tabs, board controls, dialogs — is reachable with Tab and operable with Enter / Space. A visible focus ring shows where you are.
• Dialogs trap focus while open, close on Escape, and return focus to where you were when they close.
• Masterboard respects your system reduce-motion setting and dims animations and transitions accordingly.
